Student needs don't follow a calendar and neither does our support.

Providing Support Where It Matters, When It Matters

Every day across the Waukee Community School District, students and educators encounter opportunities, challenges, and unexpected needs. The Waukee Community Schools Foundation is here to help ensure that when additional support can make a difference, resources are available to respond.

Sometimes that means helping a student overcome a financial barrier so they can fully participate in school. Sometimes it's providing food security, clothing, hygiene essentials or other basic needs. Other times, it's investing in an educator's idea that creates a new opportunity for students to learn, connect and thrive.

The needs may look different from school to school and student to student. What remains the same is our commitment to being there where it matters, when it matters.

What Does Support Look Like?
Often, support means meeting the most basic needs - quickly, practically, and with dignity.

At this year's Impact Night, the Foundation purchased, sorted, and distributed thousands of hygiene and clothing essentials to ensure schools have resources available when students need them, including:

  • 3,078 feminine hygiene products
  • 1,792 pairs of underwear
  • 1,162 pairs of socks
  • 660 pairs of sweatpants
  • 513 sticks of deodorant
  • 200 toothbrushes and 180 tubes of toothpaste

These are everyday essentials, but for a student who needs them, having access at the right moment can make a meaningful difference in their comfort, confidence, and ability to focus on the school day.

Responding with Dignity and Individually
From individual student needs, to whole-building initiatives - gifts to the Foundation provide flexible resources that allow us to meet needs and invest in opportunities throughout the district.

Your support helps:

  • Remove financial barriers that may prevent a student from participating in school activities and experiences.
  • Provide essential items such as clothing, hygiene products, school supplies and other immediate needs.
  • Ensure students have access to food and other resources that support their well-being during the school day.
  • Fund grants that bring innovative ideas and meaningful experiences to life in our schools.
  • Respond to emerging needs that we may not be able to anticipate today.

Behind each of these investments is a simple belief: every student deserves the opportunity to learn, participate, and feel a sense of belonging at school.

Help Us Be There When It Matters
As the school year gets underway, we're asking our community to help ensure the Foundation is ready to respond; not just today, but throughout the year ahead.

Your gift, at any amount, helps create a stronger network of support for students and educators across the Waukee Community School District.

Make a gift today and help WCSF continue providing support where it matters, when it matters.
